Pin Chasers Veterans Provides High Scores

Published: December 19, 2007

Dave Olm's Pro Shop Four Aces League unquestionably is the top league at Pin Chasers Veterans, where high-average bowlers compete.

An 801 series and 299 game last week provide proof.

However, the Hits and Missers League, competing on the same Wednesday evening as the Four Aces, is a step behind.

A perfect game two weeks ago and a 299 last week are viable evidence.

Brian Aaron's 284-258-259 - 801 and David Tuma's 299-719, leaving a solid eight pin on the final shot, highlighted the Four Aces League. It was Aaron's first 800 series, although the young man (20) doesn't have a perfect game to his credit. For senior citizen Tuma (64), the perfect game marked his second lifetime.

John Collins' first 300 and Gary Vetelo's 299-743 lit up the Hits and Missers League. Going down in ball weight (16 pounds to 15) and a different ball drilling played a big part in Collins' perfecto. Vetelo has two 300s to his credit.
