EGYPT LAKE - Each year the student leadership council at Cambridge Christian School selects a nonprofit agency to assist, and this year they selected Metropolitan Ministries.
The council responded to a communitywide plea from Metropolitan Ministries for nonperishable food to feed the needy.
A total of 26 fifth- and sixth-grade students participated in the two-day collection at the school, at 6101 N. Habana Ave. Items were collected in the school's pickup/drop-off deck before and after school. In two days, students collected 1,615 pounds of food and $840 in donations. All the items were delivered to Metropolitan Ministries.
