CARROLLWOOD - Road work this week may hinder drivers closer to home.
In Carrollwood, on Orange Grove Drive between Woodroffe Court and Stall Road, utility maintenance continues from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Nov. 30.
In parts of Carrollwood Village and Original Carrollwood, Hillsborough County has begun the first steps of traffic calming construction. Sam Halabi, an engineer with the county working on the effort, said the project is estimated to cost $4 million.
He said contractors will be hired to finish more complicated measures. That work will begin in February.
Scheduled to end in February is the makeover at Waters Avenue and Anderson Road.
There, traffic signals, drainage improvements, road widening and utility relocation has given commuters a variety of wait times for the past several months.
In Country Place, new telephone poles and wires are going up on Hutchinson Road between Pennington and Carey roads. That work is occurring between rush hours until March 30.
