LAKE MAGDALENE - Students in Lake Magdalene Elementary's 'Kids Into Community Service' club created an award-winning banner for their participation in a walk against drugs.
The after-school club's first event for the 2007-08 school year was to raise awareness in the annual Too Good for Drugs walk, held at the Museum of Science & Industry on Sept. 29. The children promoted the walk with posters and red ribbons at the elementary and marched in the 1-mile trek. Several schools across Hillsborough County participated.
Part of the walk included a banner contest, and Lake Magdalene won first place.
