CARROLLWOOD - Chamber music, costumes and candy will combine for an afternoon treat at Independent Day School.

The private school is offering its Reflections concert series with a Halloween twist this month. The Riverside Brass Quintet from New York City will perform at 4 p.m. Oct. 28 at the school's Farish Center, 12015 Orange Grove Drive.

The program will last about an hour and is open to the public. Tickets cost $8 for students and $10 for adults and are available at the door or in advance by calling (813) 961-3087.

The concert will feature American music, including works by John Philip Sousa, Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein and IDS music teacher Tom McColley. Adam McColley, a 1998 IDS graduate, will be the featured trombonist.

The concert will include a question-and-answer session with performers and at the end students may join a costume parade onstage with Halloween treats. Reflections is a chamber music series starting its seventh season.
