Birthday bash photos

CARROLLWOOD - About 35 family members and friends came together to help Sallie Duprow celebrate a century of life.

The big birthday bash on Oct. 13 featured reunions, surprises and storytelling.

'She was just delighted and pleasantly surprised,' said June Westlake, Duprow's niece.

Among the surprises, Duprow had a birthday cake with 100 candles, a tiara, a 2-foot-by-8-foot banner that had 'Happy Birthday Sallie' and pictures of Sallie at her 25th wedding anniversary on it.

Westlake said enlarged pictures of Duprow throughout her life were displayed at the party.

Many guests flew from across the United States to attend the party.

Westlake said Duprow saw her sister-in-law from her first marriage and her 93-year-old sister, neither of whom she had seen in decades.

'I think she really enjoyed getting to see the people,' Westlake said.
