CITRUS PARK - CITRUS PARK - If you know of a politician, educator, citizen or place that deserves recognition, you can suggest it as a name for a future school.

The Hillsborough County School District is seeking nominations for schools it is building in Citrus Park and southern Hillsborough as well as a partnership school it established at the Museum of Science & Industry.

The Citrus Park school is a middle school under construction behind Citrus Park Elementary and is expected to open in August 2008. The south county school is an elementary, scheduled to open at the same time. The MOSI school opened this past August.

Proposed names are due by 4 p.m. Oct. 12, and the school board is expected to vote on Nov. 6. Board policy is that schools should be named for individuals with outstanding service to public education or geographic locations or groups and clubs.

To recommend a name, submit it in writing to the following people:

For the Citrus Park middle school, contact Jerry Jackson, Area 2 Director, 7958 Gunn Highway, Tampa, FL 33626.

Elementary "N" (Valencia Lakes, southern Hillsborough County): Sherrie Sikes, Area 5 Director, 825 Brooker Road, Brandon, FL 33511.

MOSI Partnership School: George Gaffney, Area 3 Director, 17420 Commerce Park Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33647.
