Bus Stop Questions Flood District

Published: August 13, 2008

TAMPA - With school less than a week away, parents are scrambling to find out if their children's bus routes have changed.

So many people have called the transportation department with questions that others cannot get through. The Hillsborough County school district posted a note on its Web site saying the department had received a high number of calls and for parents to "be patient and try again later" if they don't get anyone.

The department is available at (813) 982-5500.

The district is overhauling its transportation system to make it more efficient. That has meant eliminating some bus stops and moving others.

District officials also are telling parents they can get answers if they fill out the "Review of Student Eligibility for Bus Stop Assignment" form online. The form is available here.

School starts on Aug. 18.
