TAMPA - Pirates invaded St. Joseph's Children's Hospital recently - during an event that would have made Jose Gaspar proud.
The hospital hosted its fourth annual Gasparilla Children's Parade, allowing patients to celebrate one of Tampa's traditions.
Patients, with the help of the hospital staff members, decked out their gurneys to create imitations of the Gasparilla floats and traveled through the hospital hallways. During the parade, patients had music on their stretchers and tossed beads to the crowds of family, friends and hospital staff and volunteers.
