LUTZ - A day and a half conference designed to invigorate the spiritual path for women is scheduled for early February at Idlewild Baptist Church.

The Revive Our Hearts women's conference Feb. 1 and 2 is expected to draw more than 2,000 people and will be headlined by nationally syndicated radio host Nancy Leigh DeMoss.

On DeMoss' daily radio program, heard locally on 91.1 FM WKES, she seeks to help women find a deeper relationship with God.

Her 30-minute radio show is broadcast on nearly 1,000 stations. She often discusses ways to strengthen families, marriages and relationships, and she covers issues such as parenting, spiritual growth, renewal and forgiveness.

DeMoss has written 10 books, including the best-selling, "Lies Women Believe."

She last visited Idlewild in 1996 as host of the women's conference with Life Action Ministries, said Linda Cornett, Idlewild's chairwoman for the event.

Revive Our Hearts is a women's ministry outreach of Life Action Ministries and holds four to five women's conferences across the country each year. Other conference cities scheduled in 2008 are Houston on Feb. 29 and March 1, and Chicago on Oct. 9 to 11.

Cornett said Idlewild has sent out 15,000 to 20,000 brochures outlining the weekend's seminars and schedule. It also has sent letters and brochures to more than 1,000 churches within 250 to 500 miles of Tampa.

Cornett said Idlewild invited DeMoss to talk 10 years ago after a friend heard her at another conference and thought she was a compelling speaker.

"They're life-changing," Cornett said of the woman-centered conference. The seminar begins Friday evening and concludes Saturday afternoon.

Cornett said DeMoss has a unique way of reaching women through her conviction for Scripture and her convincing biblical message.

"She's very, very soft-spoken. She has an incredible amount of wisdom. She's really a special woman. She wants you to be walking with the Lord," Cornett said.
