CARROLLWOOD - Lake Magdalene Drive, between the road's cul-de-sac and Armenia Avenue, recently opened to all traffic after a monthlong project to upgrade a stormwater lift station.
Project Manager C.T. Chen said the previous station was put in 10 years ago to control flooding in the Lake George area. Chen said the $260,000 upgrade was to replace parts to ensure the station works properly.
He said the station moves excess water in Lake George to Lake Magdalene.
Other roads projects going on this week include:
•Curb and gutter repair along Woodbridge Circle in Town 'N Country, between Woodbridge Boulevard and San Luis Court, between rush hours until Jan. 18.
•A water main installation on West Waters Avenue between Royal Sand Circle and Beasley Road from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. until Thursday.
•The makeover at Waters Avenue and Anderson Road, including drainage improvements, road widening, traffic signalization and utility relocation, scheduled to finish on Feb. 13. Hillsborough County manager Edd Arnold said the density of the intersection's underground utility work, plus the large scale of the project, accounts for the length of the makeover, which began June 29, 2007.
•Roadway improvements, including additional lanes in front of Sickles High School, on Gunn Highway between Keystone Crossing Boulevard and Hixon Road, expected to last until Aug. 29.
•Telephone pole and wire replacement on Hutchinson Road between Carey and Pennington roads, until March 30.
