CARROLLWOOD - University Community Hospital-Carrollwood and its sister hospital on Fletcher Avenue near the University of South Florida are seeking volunteers to serve a variety of roles.
The hospitals will hold open houses to offer information of how to volunteer in these areas: information desk/lobby host, emergency department, Pepin Heart Hospital, gift shops, tram drivers and couriers, surgical waiting rooms, telephone operators, patient service center, book/magazine cart, patient care areas and patient advocate liaison.
Volunteers at UCH are recognized throughout the year, including free lunches, an annual recognition banquet, an annual volunteers' week luncheon, free flu shots, no Auxiliary dues and more. Adult volunteers range in age from 19 to 90-plus and usually donate four hours each week.
Refreshments will be served at the open houses. The first one is 2 p.m. July 30 at UCH in room Camelot B, 3100 E. Fletcher Ave. The second is at 2 p.m. July 31 in the Tower Conference Room at UCH-Carrollwood, 7171 N. Dale Mabry Highway.
