CARROLLWOOD Want to see some cool art?
Check out the inaugural exhibit of the Hillsborough County Arts Alliance at the Carrollwood Cultural Arts Center, 4537 Lowell Road.
About 45 pieces – representing a wide range of styles – are on display through Nov. 7, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The works were done by members of Tampa Realistic Artists Inc., the North Tampa Arts League, The Brandon League of Fine Arts and the Westchase Artists Society.
The recently formed Alliance aims at providing more opportunities for artists to showcase and market their works, to mingle with other artists and to hone their skills.
Artist Gainor Roberts, whose pastel "Reverie" is on exhibit, said the Alliance will create more opportunities for the public to view a wide spectrum of works.
In the past, each art group has held separate shows, she explained. "This injects all kinds of new work into the mix. I think it's pretty exciting."
The exhibit is in the cultural center's auditorium. A reception with light refreshments is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Oct. 24.
