Another Try On Borrow Pit

LUTZ - A developer of a proposed borrow pit on Lutz-Lake Fern Road didn't get what he wanted the first time around, so he's taking another shot.
Stephen J. Dibbs has filed a new application for a special-use permit - to allow him to send dirt trucks east and west on Lutz-Lake Fern Road, change the buffer and begin digging sooner.
Dibbs has obtained permission to excavate and haul 2.5 million cubic yards of dirt from a site on the west side of the road, west of the Suncoast Expressway. The permit is contingent to dozens of conditions.
A public hearing on the new request is expected in mid-November. The hearing will be confined to the conditions Dibbs wants to change.
