TAMPA - NORTH TAMPA - Two Tampa men are accused of pistol-whipping a person and stealing his car this morning.
Hillsborough County deputies have arrested 27-year-old Antonio Davis and 35-year-old Robert Forte Jr. Each was charged with carjacking, armed robbery and resisting arrest without violence.
About 1:15 a.m. today at 321 E. Fletcher Ave., the men confronted people and showed handguns, an arrest report states. The men chased one of the victims down.
Davis and Forte pistol-whipped the victim and made him remove his pants, according to the report. Inside the pants were keys to the victim's 2008 Dodge. Davis and Forte then left in the Dodge.
Deputies say they tried stopping the Dodge and that Davis and Forte tried running away before being arrested near the University of South Florida.
Davis and Forte remain in Orient Road Jail. No bail has been set.
