TAMPA - Runners, dust off those sneakers because two community races will take place next month.
Carrollwood Village Homeowners Association is hosting the Tour de Village 2009, a 5K run and 1-mile walk to be held March 14 at Carrollwood Village Millennium Garden on West Village Drive.
Both distances will be professionally timed and entirely on grass. Official race results will be posted at www.cool running.com.
Race fees are $10 for adults for the walk and $15 for the run. Children ages 6 to 12 are $5 for the walk and $10 for the run. Add $5 to the fee if registering after March 6. A portion of the money raised will go to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The Lions Eye Institute Foundation is also hosting its annual Race for Sight March 21. The Walk to Run Studio in Citrus Park is hosting a runner's clinic leading up to the race.
To register, go to www.active .com. Registration is open until race time.
Race registration is $25 until March 20 and $30 the day of the race. The race will take place in Centennial Park in Ybor City.
Registration also includes the after-race celebration, T-shirts, goodie bags and awards for top male and female in 11 age divisions.
