LUTZ - Students, parents and teachers pulled each other on scooters, played four-square, bowled and wriggled in hula hoops at McKitrick Elementary's Family Frenzy last month.
Physical education teachers Luanne Lockwood and Trudy Bedessem and University of South Florida intern Justin DeMutiis organized the event with help from the parent-teacher association to encourage families to have fun together through fitness.
They set up stations with activities emphasizing cardiovascular fitness, cooperation and teamwork, Lockwood said. Some of the stations included playing tag with foam pool noodles, tetherball and basketball shooting.
