TOUR DE VILLAGE: Carrollwood Village Phase I, II and III homeowners are hosting Tour de Village 2009 at 7 a.m. at the Carrollwood Village Millennium Garden, 4535 W. Village Drive. The event includes a 5K and one-mile run. Race day registration is between $10 and $20. A portion of the event proceeds will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Wonka Live
Get your golden ticket. The Carrollwood Day School presents "Willy Wonka Jr." at 7 p.m. today and Thursday at the school's upper campus, 1515 W. Bearss Ave. More than 170 students will act, sing and dance in the colorful performance.

Seniors Stay Informed
Seniors and caregivers are invited to the Temple Terrace Senior Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Temple Terrace Family Recreation Complex, 6610 E. Whiteway Drive.

Savvy Severinsen
The Florida Orchestra presents "Doc Severinsen: El Ritmo de la Vida," at 8 p.m. in Ferguson Hall at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, 1010 N. MacInnes Place.
Armed with charm, class and a flair for fashion, Doc Severinsen and his soaring trumpet are joined by an ensemble from Mexico for a night of pop tunes, gypsy jazz and Latin and Spanish favorites.

Saturday One-Year Anniversary

Swim, Bike, Fun
The Tampa Top Kid Triathlon begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Temple Terrace Family Recreation Complex, 6610 E. Whiteway Drive.
There are races for children of all ages. Fees are $35 for ages 5 to 15 and $45 for age 16 and older. Proceeds benefit Girl Scout Troop 758. Participants must pick up paperwork between 4 and 7 p.m. Friday at the recreation center. For information, visit www.iamtri.com.

Poetic Gold
The inaugural University of South Florida Symposium on Poetry and Poetics will feature award-winning writers Wednesday through Friday. Poets Kimberly Johnson, Denise Duhamel, Liz Robbins, Nadine Meyer and Jay Hopler will start the event with a panel discussion from 2-3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the library, 4202 E. Fowler Ave. A poetry reading will follow at 6 in the Graphicstudio.

Orchid Enchantment
The Tampa Bay Orchid Society hosts its 27th annual Orchid Show and Sale Friday through Sunday at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center, 14301 Nine Eagles Drive.
The show theme is Orchid Holiday and includes show judging by the American Orchid Society. Anyone wishing to submit orchids for judging may enter their plants between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday. All plants awarded trophies and ribbons will be on display Saturday and Sunday.
In addition, 15 orchid growers will offer orchids for sale, and orchid supplies and orchid art will be available.
Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5.
