TOWN 'N COUNTRY - Students in James DellaSalla's sixth-grade science class immersed themselves in ecosystems and more last month for a class science fair at Pierce Middle School. DellaSalla asked them to create a display related to research they conducted. Students built ecosystems out of plastic animals or crafted displays related to cells, oceans, dinosaurs, minerals and the solar system.
Students from other classes were invited to attend the April 30 fair, and the school opened up that night for parents to visit.
DellaSalla said the projects helped his class retain the information they had learned. Their work was high quality, he said, and exceeded his expectations.
