NORTHDALE - Claywell Elementary hosted a special event Sept. 11 for grandparents in hopes of promoting literacy.
The fourth annual Grandparents Day provided grandparents the opportunity to meet their grandkids in the media room to read books.
Deborah Kline, media specialist, separated some books themed around grandparents. Attendees could also choose other books from the library or bring their own.
"It was wonderful to see all the grandparents come out. It means the world to the kids for their grandparents to read to them at Claywell and promote literacy," Kline said.
About 30 grandparents participated in the event.
