Sheriff Benton's supporters in the past have submitted negative comments regarding Ron Grimming's qualifications and length of residency in this county. He certainly is a very qualified candidate when considering his administrative experience as former director of the Florida Highway Patrol and former deputy director of the Illinois State Police. However, it is the negative comments regarding his length of residency that I take issue with. Obviously he has met the legal requirement to run for this office and that alone should be the determining factor. ...more

My thanks to Martha and Claudia Olivares for inviting me to the Montessori Children's Year End Step Up and Graduation Ceremony. There were 21 children who will be going on to another school. Every time I am lucky enough to attend one of these affairs I am amazed! They dance, sing and do sign language. I don't remember anyone in my past school years being this bright. The dedicated teachers, volunteers, and Mr. Filip, the music teacher who directed and produced this awesome program with great patience and care for so many children. ...more
