The Girls Scouts of Osceola Service Unit are seeking new members. In hopes of informing parents and young girls about the troop, a meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Town 'N Country Regional Library, 7606 Paula Drive. The troop accepts members from Alexander, Bellamy, Crestwood, Morgan Woods, Town and Country and Woodbridge elementary schools and Pierce and Webb middle schools and Leto High. SEBRING — A Haines City man remained in Highlands County Jail in lieu of $29,750 bond after he was arrested and charged in three separate burglary cases in the Sebring area. Jason Richard Boone, 30, of 280 Dyson Road, arrested on warrants and charged with two counts of burglary of a structure or conveyance, two counts of criminal mischief, two counts of vehicle theft, one count of burglary of a dwelling and one count of petty theft. On May 21, he was extradited from the Polk County Jail to Highlands County. Detectives say that between the hours of 3 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Oct. 20, Boone entered three Sebring properties, one in the 6000 block of North Carolina Drive and two in the 700 and 800 block of Town and Country Boulevard. ...more
